Harbour Housing Development, Reykjavik, Island: 1999
In association with Björn Olafs, Paris.
In a central part of the capital city, a private Icelandic business developed an individual, multifunctional harbour quarter with mooring for boats. This created a seaside ambience and meanwhile has become very popular and sought after. It is astonishing that this area is the first and only one on the Icelandic coast that has a direct desired access to the sea. It seems, that the coastal inhabitants had to have their eyes opened by architects from abroad.
